Types of NordicTrack Ellipticals

How can you tell the difference between the drives? It’s not too complicated. The front drive will have a big round wheel in the front, the rear will have it in the back and the center will be in the middle to either side of you. Each design affects how you work out, but they all accomplish the same thing in the end.

Front Drive NordicTrack Ellipticals

A front drive elliptical will have the flywheel in a circular  (wheel like) case at the front of the frame. NordicTrack offers four in the front drive series. Flywheel weights range from 20 lbs. to 32 lbs., so all will take you beyond the beginner level. Digital resistance levels range from 22-26 and three of the four have HD touchscreens of various sizes; while the exception the entry level (C 7.5) in the series has a 5” backlit display.  

Center Drive NordicTrack Ellipticals

In a center drive elliptical the flywheel is at the side and center of the frame. This makes for a compact design that is easy on space. Nordictrack has two signature series:

• The Mid-Mech Commercial Series are classically designed , and all are commercial quality. (DISCONTINUED)
• The FreeStride Series, are hybrid center drives that also double as stair steppers and low impact treadmills.
