Overall Rating

Pros The NordicTrack C9.5 is full of adjustable features that make it very easy to customize your workout experience, from a power adjustable incline to an adjustable stride. This model provides an incredibly smooth, reliable stride with a heavy flywheel of 25 pounds, and users have great program variety with 32 built-in options for further customization. In addition, it's also very compact.
Cons This model is really well-built with lots of options so there are few “cons” to be said about the C 9.5, but a few to mention would be the lack of an option to monitor your heart rate wirelessly (there are dual-grip heart rate sensors but no wireless option), the required subscription to use the iFit program, and the price. The overall design, while well-built, can also be a problem if you aren't used to the forward leaning movement a front-drive machine requires.
Summary This is a machine that is built to help you meet your workout goals, whatever they may be. There are so many adjustable features and options on this trainer that make it is easy to mix up workouts and really focus on meeting your fitness goals, whether it's weight loss or toning. With an impressive power incline, it's easy to target specific muscle groups, and with 24 digital resistance levels, it's easy to build endurance and torch calories. There are few cons to this model overall, but the lack of the ability to monitor your heart rate wirelessly might be an issue if you want to get a more accurate read out (plus, at this price point, this really should be an option!).

The Bottom Line

The NordicTrack C 9.5 is a fully customizable machine with lots of options to personalize your workout. The stride is adjustable from 18 to 20 inches, which can comfortably fit people of most heights, and the power adjustable incline of 0 to 20 degrees allows you to target varying muscle groups. The front-drive design isn’t preferred by everyone, but it is more compact than a rear-drive model and is also easily enjoyed by users of almost all shapes and sizes.
