Pros The Sole E95 has the versatility to meet almost anyone’s training needs. With a 30-pound drive and 20 resistance levels it can offer just the right challenge for people at all ability levels. In addition to adjusting the resistance, users can adjust the angles of the incline, pedals and console. The new E95 also has Bluetooth for integrating a mobile device, tracking data long-term and syncing data with fitness apps.
Cons The E95 will please just about anyone, but people with short strides would likely prefer the 18” path option on the Sole E95s. (The E95s has a range of 18 to 24 inches.) Another possible drawback is that only 10 training programs are on the console.
Summary The Sole E95 Elliptical is a winner once again, earning a “Best Buy” distinction for the 2016 model year. Considering its 30-pound drive, adjustable stride, power incline, Bluetooth and other high quality features we’re genuinely surprised by the low online sale price. Get it while you can!

Sole E95 Elliptical Detailed Overview

The Sole E95 Elliptical, now on sale for just $1799, has the high quality to deserve its $2699 MSRP. This model is regularly one of our “Best Buy” recommendations for front drive elliptical trainers and is better than ever with enhancements for the 2016 model year. This elliptical trainer provides some of the smoothest rides in the industry and can support all skill levels. Key points are an adjustable 20” to 22” stride, an impressive 30-pound flywheel, 20 resistance levels and 20 incline levels for targeted muscle toning. It has moving arm bars for total body training and stationary handles with heart rate sensors. The new E95 has a 10.1” console screen, 10 workout programs, and a Bluetooth connection for sharing exercise stats with third party fitness apps such as iHealth and MyFitnessPal. The Bluetooth connection also lets the user’s own tablet computer or smartphone work as a program monitor. Just like health club ellipticals, the Sole E95 has extra features to enhance comfort and motivation: two cooling fans, a water bottle holder, iPod compatibility and a secure holder for displaying a tablet computer. This residential elliptical machine is most similar to the Sole E95s, which is distinguished by an 18” to 24” stride.

Sole ellipticals are known for supporting fluid, natural motion. Since the E95 has one of the heaviest elliptical flywheels available — 27 pounds — the ride is “smoother than smooth.” This machine operates almost silently too thanks to magnetic resistance and top-notch construction. The automated incline offers additional resistance, plus it can diversity workouts with 20 elliptical paths. Using the incline is an excellent way to target muscles in the legs and glutes. For upper body training the Sole E95 Elliptical has movable arm bars with molded hand grips. Controls for the machine’s resistance and incline are conveniently built into the handles. Stationary handlebars with pulse sensors are provided too, and for wireless heart monitoring the E95 is shipped with a chest strap.

Foot pedals on this trainer are oversized (15”) to let trainees reposition for comfort during workouts. Unlike the pedals on some elliptical trainers, they are cushioned. They have a slight inward slope to reduce the likelihood of ankle and knee stress that’s common with some other front drive elliptical machines. Additionally the user can adjust the pedal angle with a dial.

This model’s warranty package provides lifetime coverage for the frame, five years for parts and electronics, and two years of in-home labor. Considering all of the above it’s easy to see why the Sole E95 is one of our top recommendations for at-home elliptical training.
