QUICK REVIEW

Pros The A.C.T. Commercial 7 impresses with a console featuring iFit capability, module included. However, this trainer does not fall short when it comes to goal tracking and advanced workout options to make working out fun. The center drive design is also a desirable quality of this trainer, designed to keep the user more upright than with front or rear designed trainers.
Cons Similar to other trainers in this A.C.T. series, this trainer could offer more in the way of adjustable features. While it does offer a manually adjustable stride of 18, 20 or 22 inches, that’s basically it when it comes to customizable options. The flywheel is also lighter than the entry level model, at 23 pounds versus that of 25 pounds for the more inexpensive model.
Summary Just like the A.C.T. Commercial 10, this model offers some nice fitness training and goal setting options. The center drive design is very comfortable to use and easy to store in smaller spaces, but for the price, you might get slightly better deal with the entry level model in this series.

NordicTrack A.C.T. Commercial 7 Elliptical Detailed Overview

The A.C.T. Commercial 7 is the mid-range trainer in the Mid-Merch Commercial series of center drive trainers. Just as with other trainers in this series, the A.C.T. Commercial 7 does not disappoint when it comes to fitness tracking options. Featuring a 5 inch backlit display, this trainer comes equipped with iFit, module included. iFit is a workout app that allows users to track workouts, store data, build their own workouts and build their own journey using Google Maps. There are also hundreds of other pre-set workout programs included. Combine that with the already existing 32 workout programs built in and 24 digital resistance levels, and this trainer boasts impressive goal setting and fitness tracking options. Also included are two 2 inch Intermix Acoustics speakers and a CardioGrip heart rate monitoring built into the stationary handlebars. Beyond the console, users can customize their stride with a manual stride option of 18, 20, or 22 inches, and enjoy oversized gel pedals that are easy on the joints. The frame is solid steel and the center drive design uses Silent Magnet Resistance technology for noiseless operation. This model also features a 23 pound flywheel and 350 pound weight capacity.

The Bottom Line

The NordicTrack A.C.T. Commercial 7 is a well-built trainer that is ideal for users who are looking for a quality workout machine that is easy on the joints. This trainer’s claim to fame is its advanced fitness tracking options, but it lacks elsewhere when it comes to adjustable features. The bottom line is that you would be better off purchasing the entry level trainer in this series and save over $1,000 if you are not interested in advanced entertainment options but still want a center-drive quality built trainer.
