Detailed Overview

The EX-69 elliptical trainer stands as a quality, mid-level trainer with a number of entertainment and workout tracking options for setting and monitoring basic fitness goals. The console includes basic features such as a fan, reading rack and a cup holder, but also includes an MP3 compatible sound system and a 5.75 inch green backlit display featuring 10 workout programs and GoalCenter ™ Performance Tracking.  This trainer features a 20 inch stride length, oversized pedals and 5 manually adjustable incline levels, making for a very smooth and natural stride, but the stride length is not adjustable. When it comes to the frame, the EX-69 is built with a 14.3 pound flywheel and a SixStar ™ Certified Platform and Frame, meaning that there is zero gap between the pedals, proper positioning of the handlebars, an 18 inch FLATellipse foot path, and a 10 inch step on height. All of these features mean a trainer that is built for comfort and safety.

The Bottom Line

As a mid-level trainer, the EX-69 offers the durability and comfort of a quality trainer at similar price points but lacks customizable and adjustable features making this trainer difficult for users of all shapes and sizes to comfortably enjoy. The front drive design is also a negative point for some users who may have back problems or find the design of having the motor in the front uncomfortable.
